Mike Hampton

The Rockies have tried some different angles on this. One was to bring in sinkerballers. See Mike Hampton’s Coors line (17-10 with a 5.79 ERA in 33 starts) to see how that went. Maybe the ball doesn’t sink in thin air, either.

On the DL right now are: John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Mike Hampton, Rafael Soriano, and Peter Moylan.

And that's only the pitchers. They're also missing Matt Diaz, Martin Prado and Mark Kotsay, while Chipper, Esco and now Infante are all aching in one way or another without (yet) going to the DL.
