Can we get a quarterback? After watching today's "game" against the Miami Dolphins, I have never been more fully convinced that our issues are very simple. We need a quality, veteran quarterback. I sincerely think a good, and I stress "GOOD" quarterback can transform this team to an 11-5 or 12-4 team next year. It's that simple. If you've been watching the season of malcontent for many other teams, you know as well as I do that there will be some good quarterback available in the offseason. I wouldn't be suprised if Donovan McNabb is available (I've blogged about this before), Carson Palmer will be out of Cincinnatti, one of the Browns quarterbacks will also be gone. Marc Bulger is on his way out in St. Louis. Any of these possibilities are leaps and bounds better than our current position. How many 1, 2, or 3 yard out routes are we going to run?
I think we need to keep Martz, keep Singletary, and hire Holmgren or Scott Pioli (New England) for our GM position. Let's be honest - our current way of doing things is simply not working. Why could we not get more of an impact player out of our first round draft pick this past year? Oh, and speaking of that - we should have had a much better pick if it wasn't for an ill-advised trade in the previous year's draft. We are shooting ourselves in the foot repeatedly and then wondering why we can't dance. I just don't get it.
