Tim walks his first batter of the game. The first pitch to the next batter, Martin, was a no-doubt strike tht left a smoke trail. He ends up striking out swinging on a filthy change up that left Martin looking foolish.
That change up has been the strike out pitch for many batters so far this game, inlcuding the very next batter after Martin, Casey Blake.
Blake DeWitt, pinch hitting for Troncoso, reaches on a very slow grounder to short. Renteria barehands it but throws so Aurillia has to come flying off the bag to save an error. Wouldn't have mattered as DeWitt was well safe. But Pierre hits it straight up up to center. Inning over.
