Dodgers at Giants, Bottom of the First

Giants up, facing

Renteria just popped way up to shallow right center. He ran it out the whole way because he's a veteran and it's windy. Ethier and Kemp bumped each other just as the ball landed in Kemp's glove... AND HE DROPS IT. Renteria got to second.

Next batter, Randy Winn. Winn lines it to dead center but the wind blows it towards right. Kemp took his first step toward the ball... that was his mistake. It flew just over and to the left of his glove. Winn gets an RBI triple. Very exciting game so far.

Renteria popped one up towards first. About 5 Dodgers were there just in case. They did a good job of actually talking to each other this time. No one bumps into anyone. 2 away.

Rowand hits a fly to right. Ethier didn't have a chance. Wind blew it to the ground abuot 20 feet from the foul line at the warning track. Rowand has an RBI double.

Sandoval hits it hard straight back at Randy Wolff, the pitcher, who avoided the ball even though it was inches from his glove. Ball gets by the diving second baseman, Hudson. Rowand goes for home. Kemp got a good jump on it in CF and throws well. Rowand, a slow runner, was well behind the throw but the ball kept sailing and catcher Martin has to jump for the ball. Rowand slides just under the tag! Sandoval gets to second on the throw.

Great inning. Very exciting.
